About This Program

Toronto Metropolitan University’s Business Management program is a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree offered through the Ted Rogers School of Management. The program develops a broad foundation in business while allowing students to specialize in an area that matches their academic interests and career goals.

Students begin with core business subjects such as accounting, economics, marketing, human resources, statistics and management. They then develop more specialized knowledge through their chosen Business Management major.

Business Management Majors

Students can pursue majors in areas such as Economics and Management Science, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Global Management Studies, Human Resources Management, Law and Business, Marketing Management, and Real Estate Management.

The availability of specific options, including co-op, can vary by major.

Co-op and Experiential Learning

Business Management students may have access to an optional co-op pathway depending on their chosen major. The co-op option combines academic study with paid work experience and normally extends the full-time program from four to five years.

Students can also develop practical business skills through case competitions, student organizations, networking opportunities, projects and other experiential learning activities offered through the Ted Rogers School of Management.

Careers in Business Management

Graduates can pursue careers across a wide range of industries and business functions. Potential career paths include marketing, human resources, consulting, business development, entrepreneurship, management, sales, finance, operations and real estate.

Career opportunities will depend partly on the student's major, work experience, professional qualifications and individual career interests.
