Canadore college; Everything You Need to Know

Located in North Bay, Canadore College is a college of applied arts and technology. It has about three campuses in North Bay, Ontario and one campus in Parry Sound. As a public college of applied arts and technology, it has over 3,500 students offering about 65 full-time post-secondary programs, centered in diverse key academic sectors and part-time studies. The institution hosts many rec leagues, tournaments and activity days. In meeting the needs of international students, the college has a Canadore’s International Department, a hub for all things international which addresses the needs of both international students as well as assisting Canadore.

 Brief history 

Canadore College was established in 1972 as a campus of Sudbury’s Cambrain College and became an independent institution in 1972. Hitherto Canadore stands in excellence, taking pride in creating the best possible environment for learning and is the college of choice for students from across the province and around the world. 

Campus and residence 

Canadore College has four campuses that is Aviation Technology Campus, Commerce Court Campus and the Education Centre (College Drive Campus) in North Bay, Ontario and one campus in West Parry Sound, Ontario and three campuses in GTA (Scarborough, Mississauga and Brampton) Canadore at Stanford. Canadore College shares its main campus facilities with Nipissing University. The college is located on a 263-hectare that is 650-acre wooded escarpment with over 26km (16 mi) of wilderness trails. That’s not all Canadore College offers apartment-style residences referred as Lower Residence, among others. 

Ranking 

Per QS World Ranking, Canadore College is ranked 1461 globally in 2022. Again, popular ranking body US News & World Report ranks Canadore College 194 for the year 2022. According to Times Higher Education the college geared rank number 1359 in 2022.

Tuition 

The college is endowed in Full-time in (aviation technology, business and management, community justice and police studies, culinary arts, environmental studies and biotechnology, health, human care and wellness, indigenous studies, language, access and preparatory studies, media, design and dramatic arts, sport and recreation, trades and technology). As well as Part-time in (business, general interest, geographic information system, health sciences, hospitality, information technology, languages, law and justice, preparatory studies, recreation and leisure services, trades and technology and transportation) are offered in the traditional classroom and or online. Tuition fee for Canadore College per semester is CAD $6,500 on an average.

Acceptance rate 

It is advisable to apply as early as possible to secure chances of admission. Canadore College admits students on a first-come-first-served basis, with a reasonably high acceptance rate of 70%. Despite that, some course like medical and healthcare courses have competitive admission requirements as they are in high demand. Due to that, a vivid academic profile with competitive score is required.

In the quest to bring out the best in its students, Canadore College has a total of 46000 passed out students.
