Brief history 

FlemingCollege also known as Sir Sandford Fleming College, is an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology located in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. The college has an enrollment of more than 6,800 full-time and 10,000 part-time students. The College was named after the Scottish-born engineer and inventor Sandford Fleming, who is perhaps best known for his contributions to the concept of Universal Standard Time, and who was knighted in 1897 by Queen Victoria. 

On September 1, 1967, Sir Sandford Fleming College opened its first campus, which had 29 faculty members and 235 students. The McDonnel Street Campus was located in a renovated textile mill, the Bonner-Worth, in Peterborough, Ont. The college is governed by a Board of Governors headed by President and executive staff.

FlemingCollege has about 6 campuses and they Peterborough, Sutherland, McRae, Cobourg, Haliburton and Frost campus. 

Fleming College on-campus residence complex in Peterborough and Lindsay provide students with the option of living in same-gender or mixed-gender housing, as well as the freedom to cook at home or purchase meals from a selection of campus dining services. All rooms have convenient parking and are completely furnished and equipped with amenities such as wireless internet, onsite laundry, individual mailboxes, among others.

Being one of the best colleges in Peterborough that have multiple campuses. Due to its quality educational offers, QS World Ranking ranked Fleming College 1356 globally in 2022. A popular ranking body US News & World Report ranked the college 91 in Canada for the year 2022. Fleming College secured rank #1258 by Times Higher Education in 2022. 

Tuition 

The college is known for its diverse programs like Advanced Water System Operation and Management (co-op), Agricultural Equipment Operator, Aquaculture (Co-op), Aquaculture Foundations, Artist Blacksmith, Biotechnology-Advanced, Blasting Techniques, Business, Business-Accounting, Business-Human Resources, Business Administration, among others. 

Student may have course and program-specific fees that will be charged to student tuition account for the cost of course materials, internship/ co-operative education, placements, and/ or memberships

Admission requirements  

The College recommends new students to take the ELB placement test campus.  Applicants who do not meet the English language requirements will be placed directly into ELB level as per their IELTS/TOEFL scores. UG Certificate/ Diploma requires (IEFTS: overall 6.0 and no selection below 6.0, TOEFL: 79 or above, PTE: 58 or above, Duolingo (DET): 105 or above) and PG Certificate requires (IELTS: overall 6.5 and no selection below 6.0, TOEFL: 90 OR ABOVE, PTE: 60 or above and Duolingo (DET): 115 or above). 

Acceptance rate 

Fleming College acceptance rate is between 40-50 percent. International students are increasingly choosing Fleming College as a study destination.
