About This Program

York University's Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is offered through the Schulich School of Business. The four-year direct-entry degree provides students with a foundation in business while allowing them to develop knowledge in areas such as accounting, finance, marketing, management, entrepreneurship and operations.

Students begin their business studies in first year and can develop more specialized academic and career interests as they progress through the program.

Schulich also provides experiential-learning, international exchange, case competition, networking and career-development opportunities designed to connect classroom learning with the business environment.

Admission to the Schulich BBA

Admission to the Schulich BBA is highly competitive and considers both academic performance and a mandatory Supplementary Application.

Ontario secondary school applicants require an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and six Grade 12 U or M courses.

Required courses include Grade 12 U English, Advanced Functions and either Calculus and Vectors or Data Management. Applicants require at least 70% in English and Advanced Functions. Calculus and Vectors is recommended.

York currently indicates that applicants with averages in the low 90s or higher may be considered for admission. However, meeting the academic requirements does not guarantee an offer.

Schulich Supplementary Application

Academic grades are only one part of the Schulich BBA admission process.

Applicants must also complete a Supplementary Application designed to help Schulich assess qualities beyond academic performance.

For Fall 2027, the Supplementary Application includes a Leadership Profile, video interview and timed writing exercise.

The Leadership Profile asks applicants to describe meaningful experiences demonstrating qualities such as initiative, collaboration, impact and personal growth. Applicants provide between three and five experiences and references who can verify those activities.

The Supplementary Application is mandatory. Strong grades do not compensate automatically for a weak supplementary application, and a strong supplementary application does not compensate automatically for inadequate academic performance.

Fall 2027 Application Deadlines

For regular Fall 2027 consideration, applicants must submit their OUAC application by January 15, 2027.

The mandatory Schulich Supplementary Application must be completed by February 1, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Schulich also offers optional Early Consideration. Applicants seeking Early Consideration must submit their OUAC application by November 6, 2026 and their Supplementary Application by November 23, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Applicants who do not participate in Early Consideration are not disadvantaged if they meet the regular application deadlines.

Keele and Markham Campus Pathways

The Schulich BBA is traditionally offered at York University's Keele Campus.

Beginning in Fall 2027, Schulich also plans to offer a Markham Campus pathway, pending York University Senate approval.

Under the proposed pathway, students choosing Markham would complete Years 1 and 2 at Markham Campus before transitioning to Keele Campus for Years 3 and 4.

Both pathways lead to the same Schulich BBA degree and use the same admission standards. Campus preference does not affect the initial admission assessment.

Experiential and Global Learning

Schulich provides opportunities for students to extend their learning beyond the classroom through experiential learning, international exchanges, case competitions, student organizations and career-development activities.

Students can also access Schulich's global network of partner institutions and alumni, providing opportunities to develop international perspectives and professional connections.

Career Opportunities

A Schulich BBA can prepare graduates for careers across a broad range of industries and business functions.

Potential career areas include finance, accounting, consulting, marketing, entrepreneurship, human resources, operations, technology and general management.

Career outcomes depend on the student's interests, specialization, work experience and any additional professional qualifications pursued after graduation.
