About This Program

Toronto Metropolitan University’s Collaborative Nursing program is a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program designed to prepare students for professional nursing practice. Students can begin the collaborative program at the Toronto Metropolitan University or Centennial College site, with students completing the later years of the program at TMU.

The curriculum combines nursing theory, health sciences and clinical learning. Students develop skills in areas such as health assessment, evidence-informed nursing practice, communication, health promotion, leadership and patient-centred care.

Clinical Placements and Hands-On Learning

Clinical placements are an important part of the nursing program. Students gain practical experience in health-care and community settings while applying knowledge developed through classroom and laboratory learning.

Clinical experiences may take place in settings such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation services and community organizations. Placement requirements and locations can vary throughout the program.

Nursing Careers After Graduation

Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and may pursue registration as a Registered Nurse in Ontario after meeting the registration requirements established by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
