About This Program

The University of Toronto Engineering Science program is a four-year Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) program offered through the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering at the St. George campus. The program combines a broad engineering and science foundation with advanced specialization in the later years of study.

During the first two years, Engineering Science students complete an intensive foundation in mathematics, computing, engineering design, physical sciences, and other engineering subjects. In the upper years, students move into specialized areas of Engineering Science, allowing them to develop deeper expertise in their chosen field.

Students can also gain professional experience through the University of Toronto Engineering PEY Co-op program. Eligible students may complete paid work terms that provide opportunities to apply their engineering knowledge in professional settings before graduation.

Admission to Engineering Science is highly competitive. Ontario applicants must complete the required Grade 12 prerequisite courses and the Engineering Supplemental Application. Meeting the minimum course requirements does not guarantee admission.

Graduates can pursue careers across engineering, technology, research, consulting, artificial intelligence, robotics, aerospace, biomedical engineering, energy systems and other technical fields. The program also provides preparation for graduate and professional study.
