Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advance Learning with over 11000 full-time and 30,000 totaling about 23,000 registered students through campuses and training centers in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, Guelph, Stratford, Ingersoll and Brantford is located in Kitchener, Ontario.

Brief history 

Conestoga College was established 1967 as the Conestoga College of Applied Arts Technology, one of many such institution established in that time by the Ontario government to grant diploma and certificate in career-related, skills-oriented programs. The college was renamed in 2012 when the government extended the school’s reach, namely to grant degrees in technology-based field. 

As time went on the college added programs such as the Master of Business Administration program, in cooperation with the University of Windsor. In addition, it offers a new nursing curriculum leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc.N) degree. 

Campus and residence (local and international) 

Conestoga College has about 10 campuses with Doon Campus as its main campus located at the South end of Kitchener and houses the central administration offices as well as the majority of courses offered by the college. Future students should be informed that regional campuses have select program. 

The rest of Conestoga College campuses are Kitchener Downtown Campus, Waterloo Campus, Cambridge Campus, Guelph Campus, Stratford Campus Brantford Campus, Cambridge Downtown-Academic Upgrading, Ingersoll Skill Training Centre and Cambridge-Reuter Drive Campus. 

The campus doesn’t have on-campus accommodation but there are numerous student apartments near the college. These are private accommodations which are comfortable, student-friendly, peaceful and affordable. The residences are located within walking distance from, the college so students save both time and money on daily commute. 

Ranking 

As one of the top universities and colleges in Canada, QS World Ranking ranked Conestoga College 1567 globally in 2022. According to another popular ranking body US News & World Report, the college is ranked 299 in Canada for the year 2022. According to Times Higher Education, in 2022, Conestoga College secured rank 1464 and also rank 6003 in 2022 by Webometrics ranking, 

Tuition 

Conestoga College has one-four years programs, as well as apprenticeship training programs. Health Informatics of the International Business Management degree which started in the fall of 2006, Mechanical Systems Engineering, Integrated Telecommunications and Computer Technology and Architecture are many options available to students including four-year degrees. 

With variety of diploma programs, degree programs, and other academic programs in Conestoga College are highly to taught by educated professors. 

Admission requirements 

To be admitted by Conestoga College, applicant must meet the program admission requirements and provide proof of English proficiency in one of the following ways; 

  • Diploma/Certificate – 6.0 IELTS Academic (with no bands less than 5.5) 80 TOEFL 
  • Degree – 6.5 IELTS Academic (with no bands less than 6.0) 88 TOEFL 
  • Graduate Certificate (Some IT/engineering program required test scores may vary) 6.5IELTS Academic (with no band less than 6.0) 88 TOEFL

If applicant do not have the English language skills for direct entry into full-time post-secondary programs, you may choose to enter Conestoga’s English for Academic Studies (EAS) program.

Acceptance rate 

Conestoga College acceptance rate is 85%. This makes it relatively easy to get admission in the college. Students need to showcase their exceptional academic performance and meet the academic requirements to get accepted by Conestoga College.
