Before you apply OCAD University
Applicants should note that OCAD admission to an undergraduate degree program is based primarily on the review of an applicant’s portfolio/supplemental application materials which indicates an applicant’s suitability for and ability to be successful within the program applied to.
Prepare your documents
Documents required for an application to OCAD depend on the program the applicant is applying to, level of study, and country of origin. Official transcripts and English language proficiency test sores, however if English is not your first language, you may be required to provide evidence of proficiency in English through a standardized test such as TOEFL or IELTS.
Application Deadline
The recommended deadline to apply for all programs is February 1, 2023. OCAD University considers applications received after February 1, 2023, as space permits, but some programs may not accept applications after this deadline. The general application deadlines are as follows:
Fall semester (September start): The application deadline for most undergraduate programs is February 1st. Note that some programs may have an earlier deadline or a rolling admissions process.
Winter semester (January start): The application deadline for most undergraduate programs is October 1st.
Graduate programs: Deadlines for graduate programs vary by program and are often earlier than undergraduate deadlines.
Domestic and international applicant

- Finalize and submit your application
- Application review process (only complete applications will be reviewed by the university’s Admissions Committees).
- Notification of admissions decisions (once a decision is made by the university, applicant will receive a notification via email asking to log in to the Graduate Application Portal).

After you apply OCAD University
OCAD University will begin to send out results of applications to applicants. May 29, 2023; latest date an applicant (who applied by February 1, 2023) can expect to receive results of their application. You can track your application status through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) website. Note that June 1, 2023 is the deadline to accept an offer of admission through the OUAC.
